From Spice Girl to mom to "The Singing Office," she's a bit more "gentle."
By Denise Martin, Special to the
latimes.com

She may have lost out to race-car driver Helio Castroneves on "Dancing with the Stars," but Melanie Brown (a.k.a. Scary Spice, Mel B) is determined to make a go of a post- Spice Girls career. She'll co-emcee the 2008 Miss Universe pageant with Jerry Springer next month for NBC. And today, Brown and fellow former pop star Joey Fatone will co-host TLC's "The Singing Office," a series in which the pair surprises several unsuspecting offices by rallying the 9-to-5 staffers into competing in a musical throwdown. "There was something about being there with the everyday office crowd that turned out to be a lot of fun. Some of them really wanted to sing, others I had to chase around with a mic," she says. But make no mistake, "We weren't out to find the next big pop star, so don't expect that!"

Brown talked to us about her "secret life," including the highs and lows of being celebrity, her first big splurge and what movie always breaks her heart.

What movie makes you cry?
"Stepmom." Without a doubt. Whenever it's on, I have to watch. And it's always on, isn't it? I feel like it is. Every time I'm channel-surfing, there it is. And every time, I stop. [The remake of] "The Heartbreak Kid" too, but it's more like crying from laughter. It actually hurts from my laughing so hard.

If you could change one thing about being a star, what would it be?
It'd be nice to not have paparazzi take pictures of you when you don't know they're there. I've gotten caught in some of the worst positions. But then again, I've had guys come up to my face and say "I'm going to take a picture of you" and I can't stop them. It's quite creepy.

Do you ever read the tabloids?
Well I don't read them, but sure, I have a quick look at the pictures. [Laughs] I admit it! But if I read the print, it'll wind me up. Even if it's nice, you might just be the flavor of the month and then you'll probably get trashed the next. So I'm always hoping I'm somewhere in between.

Do you wear a disguise when you're in public?
No, I'm very proud of who I am.

What's the best thing about being a star?
You get to cut in line every now and then and you walk into your restaurant and usually get a table. It might be booked for three months out and you can still get in -- that's the best.

What did you first splurge on once you made big money?
I bought myself a Rolex and I bought my mum and dad a big seven-bedroom house in the town where I grew up.

What's your favorite thing to do alone?
I love to get massages and meditate.

What was your first Hollywood job?
I was 13 and an aspiring actress and I finally got this gig as an extra in this British series called "Coronation Street." I was stacking shelves in a store as part of the background. It was my claim to fame for a year or so because everyone watched it. It was huge. And actually, everyone still watches it. My part actually grew as time went on and I actually got to speak once. It was thrilling.

What's the biggest misconception about you?
Probably that I'm scary. I'm not really. I am very opinionated, more so when I was younger. Whatever I thought in my head I used to say out loud. Now, I try to say things a little bit differently, so I'm more, I don't know, gentle.

Which film or TV character would you most like to play?
Sydney Bristow in "Alias." I'd love to play someone who gets to kick ass every day.

What's on your TiVo?
Apart from " Hannah Montana" and kids programs, hmmm, I like watching nature documentaries. There's a number of them waiting for me.

What was your favorite subject in high school?
Well, I went to a performing arts school and I found that I really loved playing the drums. I ended up doing all my exams in drums alone. I haven't played seriously in five or six years, but every now and then I'll let loose. You get to be wild and free when you're drumming.

If you were given three free hours right now, what would you do with them?
I'd probably take my kids to the park or go on a roller-coaster ride and then have some delicious food cooked by my husband [producer Stephen Belafonte]. He's a fantastic cook. He makes really good roasted vegetables, wonderful chicken. It's just delicious.

Interview by Emma Lazenby
www.gm.tv

Mel B chats to gm.tv about life in L.A, her American success and the end of the Spice Girls - forever!

First of all...Leeds or L.A?
Leeds will always be my home and I love it but I've lived in L.A for six years now and I can see myself always being there! The sun always shines, I'm very successful there and my kids are really happy. I definitely won't be moving back home any time soon. I've got too much on! I've just signed a deal with VH1 for my clothing range, I'm doing tons of presenting over there and meeting really interesting people, so I'd be crazy to leave now!

Would you say your success on Dancing With the Stars was the start of your American fame?
Yeah, that was the first big thing I did out there and the reaction I got was fantastic! I had a lot fun doing that.

And we've heard you've been working with Janet Jackson...
Yep, well I'm 10 songs into my album and she worked with me on one of the tracks. I'm also doing a tour of America with her in September, which I can't wait for. She's a great lady.

Are you missing your fellow Spice Girls now the tour has finished?
It's been six months now since the tour ended and people are still talking about it! I don't have chance to miss the girls because we're constantly texting and talking on the phone. We'll always be close, no matter what happens. But we've all said separately that we'll never get back together now. That's it for The Spice Girls. The tour was the perfect way to thank the fans and say goodbye.

You've now entered the lingerie modelling world - you look fantastic! Please tell us your whole life isn't diets and exercise!
No way! Well, I don't agree with diets - they don't work! I'm lucky because I like healthy food and I don't have a sweet tooth. Everything in moderation! I just work out twice a week with a really effective fat burning exercise plan and that works for me. I'm bringing out a fitness video later in the year, so look out for that.

How are you celebrating your anniversary? Have you got the night off tonight?
I finish work at about 3pm today and I think Stephen is planning a surprise. We've got the whole night free, so it should be nice. He's not a fan of London though! He hates the weather and he's not a big fan of the people.

Have you taken him up north yet?
No, I haven't had the chance! I will soon though. He's met my mum lots of times - she always comes to London whenever I'm back over here.

Would you say that, in this point in your life, you're happier than ever?
I'm always happy! I don't have 'down times'. I've been upbeat since I was 13!

Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown will duet with Janet Jackson to make sure her solo career is a success, Metro can reveal. Speaking exclusively, she vowed to hit back in the singles chart following her first failed attempt.

Her last single 'Today' failed to make the UK singles top 40.

But now Brown, who previously scored a number one with rapper Missy Elliot with 'I Want You Back', says she has called on her new American friends to make her run stick this time round.

'I not scared of having another try. I am working with the best producers ever. I am now ten tracks in to my new record.'

'I am doing something with Janet Jackson which should be amazing. I am also going to hook up with Missy again.'

The singer now lives in LA with her two daughters and husband, Stephen Belafonte, who she married last summer.

Mel B to front new Ultimo capaign [Click here to see the pictures]

Spice Girl Mel B is the new face and body for Ultimo lingeire, replacing Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding.

Mel B has been enlisted to promote the new spring/summer 2008 collection, which is said to be inspired by the "glamor and vintage Art Deco charm of Miami Beach".

The new range features bright colours and leopard print embroidery and is available from Debenhams stores nationwide and online from ultimo.co.uk. MJM International, which owns the Ultimo brand, also produces Ultimo D-G, Michelle for George, Adore Moi and Per Amore.

Suzanne Shaw, former Hear' Say singer and winner of ITV's Dancing on Ice, was last month revealed as the new face of Michelle for George lingerie, which is sold exclusively at Asda.

Earlier in the year, celebruty model Nell McAndrew starred in campaign for Adore Moi and former Hollyoaks actress and I'm a Celebrity contestant Gemma Atkinson fronted a campaign for the Ultimo D-G range.

Other famous faces have included Jade Jagger, Kimberly and Ruby Stewart, Samantha Mumba, Helena Christensen and former Liberty-X singer Michelle Heaton.

Michelle Mone, creator of Ultimo, said: "Mel B is the biggest star Ultimo has ever signed and I am so excited that this will take the brand onton another level."

Joey Fatone, Mel B. to Co-Host TLC Show

LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) - Melanie Brown and Joey Fatone have a new role to add to their scarily similar resumes: TLC host.

The duo will co-host "The Singing Office", a tongue-in-cheek singing competition that puts different groups of employees against each other.

Both Brown and Fatone were members of chart-topping pop quintets; both finished in second place on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars"; and both have starred in "Rent" in Broadway.

"It's not like American Idol or Dancing with the Stars", Brown told The Associated Press while filming at the Long Beach Airport. "It's not a serious competition. It gives people a break from their everyday lives to have some fun with their co-workers."

In each episode, Brown, 32, and Fatone, 31, surprise employees at two separate workplaces with impromptu vocal auditions. They then pick the five best singers. The makeshift groups are trained by pros to perform a song-and-dance routine and compete in front of a studio audience.

"I couldn't have thought of a better pair to do this", said executive producer Scott Sternberg. "Both of them did really well on Dancing With the Stars, so I think America really knows then and is rooting for then now".

Brown recently wrapped up the Spice Girls reunion tour. Fatone, who performed with 'N Sync, has been hosting NBC's "The Singing Bee", which wasn't included on the network's fall schedule.

There's one more thing they have in common: Brown said they're both scheduled to return to the "Dancing with the Stars" ballroom May 6 to dance for the shows 100th episode.

(ABC is owned by The Walt Disney CO.)

FASHION CAREER
Image Hosted by ImageShack.usBy Hello.com Thanks to Emily Sullivan @ Hello.com to send this in.

Even among her Cavalli-dressed colleagues, Melanie Brown always stood out in the Spice Girls line-up. And now, with her first clothing line about to hit the stores, fans of the leopard-print loving singer have the chance to copy her distinctive style.

In a spirit of friendly rivalry with her bandmate Victoria Beckham, who's been in the fashion business for years, the dynamic Leeds girl and new face of lingerie brand Ultimo, has been secretly at work on a range called Catty Couture.

Reflecting the contents of Mel's own wardrobe, the body-hugging designs feature plenty of her signature animal print motifs.

While Posh's dVb range focuses mainly on jeans, Melanie's collection is made up of flirty tops, jackets and skirts for the fun-loving girl about town.

TV SHOW
Meanwhile, Mel's continued bid to forge a career stateside has finally paid off as she has landed a new TV show. The Leeds born Spice Girl will pair up with Joey Fatone, of Justin Timberlake's former chart-topping boy band Nsync, to find undiscovered musical talent — in the office. On "The Singing Office", Fatone and Brown will surprise unsuspecting employees in workplaces across the country by showing up and holding impromptu auditions.

Mel said: "It's not like American Idol or Dancing With the Stars. It's not a serious competition. It gives people a break from their everyday lives to have some fun with their co-workers."

Mel B. — a.k.a. Melanie Brown a.k.a. Scary Spice — is busy laying tracks for a new album she expects to have ready for release late this year. "It's an R&B-pop kind of thing, a cross between Pink and Destiny's Child. Urban pop. That's what I do best, where I come from, what people know me for," reports Mel.

"I've recorded four songs so far with some really great people," she says. She'll begin work with super producer Rodney Jerkins next week.

She's also busy with her "Access Hollywood" gig — reporting on "Dancing With the Stars" and chatting up contestants on the program on which she wowed viewers as the perfect-score-getting runner up of Season 5.

And she has her own soon-to-be-announced reality show with Joey Fatone already in production for TLC. "The Singing Office," premiering in June, has Mel and Joey pitted against each other to find the best singers out there working in typical American offices. She and her producer husband, Stephen Belafonte, are also exec-producers.

And she's launching her own Catty Couture clothing line — heavy on her beloved animal prints — with a fashion show for buyers set to take place in downtown L.A. Monday 4/7.

All in all, it's a very good period for Mel, who's certainly had her share of lows — including the failures of past solo music ventures and the relationship with Eddie Murphy that begat daughter Angel Iris and ended bitterly, with Murphy refusing to acknowledge paternity 'til DNA test results came in. Angel turned 1 year old yesterday (4/3), and Mel, who also has 9-year-old daughter Phoenix, planned a baby party.

"Life's all ups and downs," she muses. "It's all relative."

Mel B is reportedly set to star in the new 'Magnum' film.

The Spice Girl - who is keen to make it as an actress - is believed to have won a part in the big screen version of the hit 80s show, which was about a private investigator living in Hawaii.

A source said: "Mel will play a tough-talking detective. Her no-nonsense attitude will make her a great addition to the cast."

The TV show, on which the movie is based, 'Magnum, P.I.' saw Tom Selleck play Thomas Magnum, an investigator who solved crimes while driving around in his Ferrari 308 GTS.

Although the cast is yet to be officially announced, it was recently reported that Matthew McConaughey would play Magnum.

Let me clear some things... Video section was offline last week because multiply.com - our multimedia host - deleted our account and we lost all files... As I was ending the new layout, I thought that it would be more practical put everything on line at once (new layout, mp3, videos)... A farewell message from The Return Of The Spice Girls tour

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Hello...

Our time is up... we've come to the end of the road… there are tears of both sadness and joy. Look how far we've come!

Who would have thought that our reunion could have turned out to be this amazing? It just shows what can grow out of an exciting thought, an idea, a hope, a dream. Yes, our reunion tour is proof that dreams do come true.

We have been lucky enough to have shared it with the most loyal fans in the world. Ten years on, you came back still wanting more… and it looks like we made some new friends along the way. You have inspired and ignited us with each show, the 47 that we performed, each time was amazing and it is thanks to you.

So we look to the future with hope and imagination and let Girl Power live on through all of you as it will continue in us and the future generations to come.

We have learnt so much through you and through each other.

"Never give up on the good times always believe in the love you find."

We hate goodbyes but sadly the time has come to take our final bow so maybe our song says it best:

"Goodbye my friend, it's not the end… So glad we made it, time will never ever change it… "

Mission Accomplished...

Love

The Spice Girls reunion world tour may have ended but Mel B (Melanie Brown) won’t be out of site for long. The singer is joining Access Hollywood as our latest guest correspondent, covering the sixth season of "Dancing With the Stars," Access Hollywood executive producer Rob Silverstein announced last tuesday.

Fans fell in love all over again with Scary Spice when she brought mega-watts of Girl Power to the dance floor alongside former dance partner Maksim Chmerkvoskiy during "Dancing’s" fifth season. Her limitless energy and enthusiasm, which helped get her to the show's finals are traits the bubbly beauty will bring to the Access Hollywood stage.

"Access Hollywood has a fun energy that I am excited to be a part of," Mel B said. "I had such a wonderful experience on 'Dancing With the Stars' last season and I'm looking forward to talking to all of this year's contestants about their journeys and experiences along the way and dropping in on all their rehearsals, but this time on the [other] side of the mic."

Mel B will cover everything from behind-the-scenes rehearsals to post-show interviews in season six of the hit reality show, which returns to television on March 17.

"We are more than excited to have the 'spice' that Mel brings added to our unmatched lineup of talent," Silverstein said. "She has a magnetic and endearing personality and she knows first-hand what all these contestants are going through, which will make for some fun and candid interviews."

In related news, Mel B will be spending her time away from the camera working on a new solo album and her own fashion launch, expected to launch later this year.

The Return Of The Spice Girls Tour
Huge Global Demand For Spice Girls Exceeds Original Expectations

"If you see the show and don’t love every single second, check your pulse please because you might actually be dead."
Daily Mirror – December 2007

When the Spice Girls reunited for the first time as a 5 piece in 9 years last June announcing The Return Of The Spice Girls tour, no-one was quite sure how the world would respond. Certainly no-one could have predicted just how phenomenal the demand was eventually going to be. Within days over 1 million people in the UK alone had registered for tickets as well as 3 million people in the US. The Spice Girls are in huge global demand and since reforming they have received literally thousands of requests and offers to play in almost every country in the world.

When tickets went on sale for the first UK show at The O2 Arena they sold out in a record breaking 38 seconds. It was clear this was going to be no ordinary tour. Within days the girls extended their 02 run to an incredible 17 shows. If it hadn’t been for other tour commitments they could have continued to add dates. Spice fever was well and truly back.

The Return Of The Spice Girls tour finally kicked off to global critical acclaim in Vancouver on the 2nd of December 2007 and this stage of the tour will finally come to an end on February 26th in Toronto. Within that time the girls will have performed shows in the US, UK and Europe to well over half a million fans. The icons of girl power are still at the top of their game. The girls have been stunning audiences with their high-energy performances and have brought back some much needed fun, excitement and glamour to the music world.

In the US the LA Daily News reported, “They may just be better than ever on this tour,” and that the tour “wasn’t a comeback at all, it was an upgrade”. The San Francisco Chronicle wrote, “The Spice Girls is the reunion that matters this year. Spice Girls prove they have staying power”. In the UK the Independent On Sunday commented, “Brassier, bolder and better than ever. This was a spectacular show.” The News Of The World claimed, “Those girls are STILL amazing on stage. What a show – everything all the mad fans could hope for after ten long years of waiting.”

Sadly the tour needs to come to an end by the end of February due to family and personal commitments for Emma, Geri, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria. It was announced in June that, as well as the Europe and the US, the girls planned to visit Australia, China, South Africa and Argentina. Due to the phenomenal demand for tickets in the UK and the US along with the touring logistics for such a massive production it was not possible to fit everything in. As the girls return to normal family life and the kids go back to school they are reviewing all the options, who knows what the future might bring!

The girls said: “We’ve had such an amazing time over the last 3 months. It’s been incredible being back together and seeing our fans again. We want to thank everyone who came to see us. It was all so mad the first time round, so we’ve really been able to appreciate it properly this time. There have been so many highlights and good times that we know it will be hard to be apart after Toronto. Really sorry if we didn’t get to see you this time round. We all have other commitments in our lives now but who knows what will happen next.”

Alright you lot.

I've just arrived at the venue in Boston ahead of our show tonight. We flew in on Monday and it was great to have a rest on the plane. The kids were all running up and down the aisles and singing Spice Girls songs and then "I Turn To You" which Melanie C loved… although I'm not sure if the other passengers on the plane felt the same!

Just before we landed, Romeo made an announcement over the tannoy asking everyone to take their seats and fasten their seat belts... it was very cute.

We had a day off yesterday so I can’t wait to get back on stage with the girls tonight and then we're off to Montreal tomorrow and Spice City (also known as Toronto) on Friday.

I'm really excited to be back in America again as I've been living on this side of the pond for the past five years. Our American fans are very supportive and it's nice to be here as a five-piece this time round.

I had an absolute blast being back in the UK. I didn't realise how much I'd missed it. One thing I didn't miss though is how the British press can be to people. They all need to be lovers not haters!

I loved being at The O2 for so long but it was wicked to get up north and perform in Manchester, which is so close to my home town of Leeds. I had a load of my friends and family in the audience that Saturday night and it was great to have them there.

I've got a new outfit for the celebration section of the show and I've got one thing to say about it… just call me Tamika Ghetto Fabulous, haha!

I need to say thank you to our fan David who picked up my bracelet when it flew off on stage in London. He returned it to me on Saturday in Manchester and I'm very grateful to him. It's nice to have it back!

I hope that you are all enjoying the give-aways on the website, it's my personal mission to get little keep sakes from the other girls throughout the tour – even if some of them are gross hahaha.

Right, gotta run. Time to go and sound-check. Enjoy the show

The Spice Girls lit up The O2 Arena in London last night with their first show of the new year, and it was yet another storming show. The audience was obviously in the mood to party and the cheers from the crowd reached fever pitch before the girls even took to the stage.

Geri revealed to the enthusiastic audience that Mel B was suffering from an extra challenge during the show, resulting from the Spice Girls’ new year celebrations together. Geri told the arena: “We all had a great evening but poor Mel B had a little tumble, so she’s dancing tonight despite a painful ankle. Not that you will notice because she’s still busting her moves.”

Alright you lot!

Wow, it's been a mental few days! Sorry this is late, I've been living it up in Vegas – haha.

We had a lot of fun in Vancouver and the US but its great to be back in England – even if it is bloody freezing!

Thanks to all of you that showed up to welcome us at Heathrow on Thursday after we flew home on Spice One, its so cool that we have a plane named in our honour!

Emma is doing well. She's been having treatment from David Beckham's doctor and has been resting since we arrived home.

We can't wait to get on stage at the O2. We've been looking forward to this show since we announced the dates in June… we are going to rock it!!

I'll be at Selfridges on Monday night (6pm) for a Christmas sing-along, so I'm sure I'll see some of you nutters down there.

Love

If you don't recognized, this post title is one of "Voodoo" lines, new Spice Girls' song that now is available to hear online in our jukebox - lyrics are up under career >> albums.

"Headlines" video debuted two days ago in british tv, follow the link youtube.com/watch?V=WcAlA4iY_kY (taken from the Spice Girls' official YouTube channel) to watch it.

Do you guys remember about the record that Mel B and the Virgin Mobile tried to break in Toronto last week? And they did it! The previous mark was 254 mobile phones ringing in unison. In this event occurred November 01st in the Eaton Center (Toronto, Canada) were 558 people - and all hearing the "Wannabe" ringtone. Mel B said that "The support the Spice Girls get from Toronto fans has always been amazing so as soon as I heard about Virgin Mobile's record attempt I couldn't wait to get there. I hope everyone had a great time helping us to break the world record."

Finally back with updates, and I believe I've returned just in time, I would say, almost at the right time.

Again, I had problems with my computer (this is leading me to believe that soon I'll have to change my pc), but this isn't the case now, we are down to business to what occurred on SpiceWorld in the meantime:

* "Headlines" video was recorded on October 19th in London, and has its premiérre scheduled to November 02nd (TOMORROW). Melanie B and Victoria flew to London - Mel took her partner from "Dancing with the Stars", Maksim Chmerkovskiy. A short "behind the scenes" was recorded and played in american tv at Mel's participation in the dance competition. Visit melanie-brown.org/pictures/categories.php?cat_id=14 and see some photos of the video.

* New dates have been added to the tour, which currently has 38 (yes, thirty-eight) dates.

* The album "Spice Girls Greatest Hits" will be released on 7 November in Japan, 9 November in Italy, Holland, Ireland, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, 10 November in Australia and Sweden, 12 November in Mexico and the UK, 13 November in the USA and Canada and 14 November in Finland.

* In the United States the album'll be available in digital format. The physical format will be sold only in Victoria's Secret stores.

* The fourth week in the "Dancing with the Stars" was tense. Mel raised 26 points dancing Viennese waltz, and adding these points to the popular vote she came to the "Bottom 2" - one step to the elimination.

* Insteady, the fifth week was a tremendous success! Besides bringing the Spice Girls behind the scenes ( "Vote for her, because she is fab!", praised Emma Bunton), Melanie showed all her latin vibe dancing samba... And what was the samba played? Nothing more nothing less than SPICE UP YOUR LIFE! Melanie has incredible 29 points.

* And the success was repeated in the following week! This time dancing rumba, Melanie simply charmed the jury, giving her three notes ten, adding a total of 30 points - first time that Mel reaches the maximum score, and the second time that any competitor has a perfect score in this season.

* Confirmed Spice Girls: Giving You Everything. The documentary will show Spice Girls' history from the beginning up to today. The director will be Bob Smeaton, who work with the Beatles.

* The Spices will be the spokepersons of Tesco stores.

* Virgin Atlantic was announced as the airline partner of the Spice Girls in this world tour.

* Mel B was in Toronto today and she was climbing to be part of a new world record! Virgin Mobile hosted an event very noisy in Eaton Center and the reason for all that noise was create a new record: attach the greatest number of people in the same place listening to the same ringtone. And the music chosen was the Spice Girls' megahit, Wannabe.

Quick and long eh?
The next updates won't take so long, and will be shorter.

We have some new content on the site, particularly in the "career" section, take a look.

Alright you lot,

Wow, what a busy few days I’ve had… it’s been mental but brilliant at the same time. As you know, I flew to the UK with Victoria last week so that we could hook up with the other girls to shoot the video for our new single Headlines (Friendship Never Ends). It was a really, really long day but I think that’s because we all sat around drinking tea and gossiping like a bunch of old women! We had such a laugh. It was great to be together again and I think the video is going to look fan-bloody-tastic. I can’t wait to see it finished and on TV.

Hopefully you will have heard the single by now as it was played on radio on Tuesday morning. We are really pleased with it and hope that you will love it as much as we do. I can’t wait to perform it for the first time with the rest of the girls.

I’m back in LA now as I’m Dancing With The Stars. I was so pleased with the judges’ comments this week. I was really nervous about the performance as I had such little time to practice but I think the other girls brought me luck. I really enjoyed dancing to Spice Up Your Life. My dancing partner Maks was with me in the UK so that we could practice our routine in-between takes of the video. Although I think the other girls scared him a bit – but that’s what Girl Power is all about.

I’m so excited about the tour and soon we will all be together in LA so we can really get stuck in to rehearsals. It is going to be such an AMAAAAAAZING show, so I hope you’ve all got your tickets!

See you all soon

• • Spice Girls Reveal New Headlines
Posted @ Tuesday, October 9, 2007 by Junnior
Messages

by Beverley Lyons and Laura Sutherland @ DailyRecord.co.uk

The Spice Girls' first single since they announced they were reforming was always going to grab the headlines.

So it comes as no surprise that the girl group have decided to call their first track just that - Headlines.

Geri Halliwell, aka Ginger Spice, told GMTV: "I'm not sure if I'm going to get in trouble for telling you this, because I haven't discussed it with the girls, but I'm going to give you a world exclusive.

"The new Spice Girls' new single is finished and it's out on November 19 and it's called Headlines. It's amazing - a Spice Girls classic. It feels like taking a little bit of the past. You feel that flavour but then it's moving on."

Even choosing songs for the Greatest Hits CD hit the headlines with Geri refusing to permit a track written by Melanie C in the final cut.

Geri also let it slip that work on the single started in the spring before the girls had even got back together.

She said: "Before we'd even got the final 'yes' we started putting words down. Emma and I worked on it with the original writers we used to collaborate with. Then the other girls chipped in later, adding lyrics." But the singer insisted things are good between band members, and being mums has "bonded us all".

But earlier this week it was revealed the Spice Girls have delayed the release of their album to stop it coming out on the same day as Westlife's latest LP.

Headlines will be the official BBC Children in Need single of the year - the Spice Girls will be donating all of their profits from their new single to the charity's 2007 Appeal.

This single is one of two new songs that the Spice Girls have recorded for their Greatest Hits album and the five-piece will perform the song especially for BBC Children in Need viewers on Friday 16 November.

Melanie Chisolm confirmed the news on Radio 1, saying: "It's really beautiful. Anybody who loved the old Spice Girls stuff is going to love this."

Fans of the Spice Girls who just can't wait until Friday 16 November can look forward to a world exclusive screening of the video of Headlines, which will launch the run up to Children in Need Night, on BBC One on Friday 2 November.

The single will be commercially available from Monday 19 November. Every single copy sold will help BBC Children in Need top last year's total of £33 million.

Another delighting news among all this is that Spice Girls' London comeback concert sold out in just 38 seconds.

A computer selected 20,000 from the million people in the UK who had registered online for the December 15 show.

Those who were successful were sent an email or text message on Sunday night saying they could snap up their tickets for the O2 Arena concert yesterday.

Tickets for the gig are already appearing on auction website eBay for up to £750. Now three new London dates - on December 16 and 18 and January 2 - have been added to the tour.

Webmaster's note: some gossip in here! Tabloids, you know then.

The following message and photo have been posted in their official site:

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Hello everyone,
We’re sure you'll agree with us when we say this is news worth waiting for!!

If you’ve been randomly selected for a chance to buy tickets to one of the shows on our World Tour, you’ll be getting an email from us very, very soon telling you exactly what you need to do to get your tickets.

Millions of you from all over the world have registered, and we’ll be sending out the emails soon, so if you don’t get an email straight away, keep checking your inbox just in case!

It’s been fantastic to see how strong Girl Power still is in 2007, and we want to thank you for your support.

We’re so excited!!

Good luck everyone, we really hope to see you on tour.

Lots of love

Tonight thespicegirls.com was updated again, now bringing us some news about any dates OUTSIDE United States and United Kingdom:

We are absolutely overwhelmed by the number of people who have already bought tickets to see us in the US and UK. Thank you so much.

Even though we have been able to add some more dates in the UK, we know that there are still many more fans who would love to be able to see us live.

We have therefore taken the very difficult decision to re-schedule some of the dates on our World Tour, in order to be able to perform in front of as many people as we can in our own country.

New dates at the O2 in London have just been announced and full details of all our shows will be posted here on http://www.thespicegirls.com/ - so keep checking.

If you've got a ticket - well done - we're looking forward to seeing you at one of the shows. IIf you haven't got one - keep trying and good luck.

Thank you for your support. We are all so excited and just can't wait to be up there on stage.

As we can read, all dates (EXCEPT show scheduled in US and UK) will be re-scheduled, aafter more dates whithin UK be added. We'll keep you up to date!

Mel B debuted in the US TV competition "Dancing With the Stars" this monday, 24.

The Spice Girl was very well criticized and is in second place in the reality show, only behind Jane Seymour.

The ukrainian dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Mel B's partner, also received excellent reviews about the choreography that he created for the singer.

With “Deeper Love” as a soundtrack, the pair showed cha-cha-cha steps and a stage that pulled out warm claps from the spectators. (watch out Mel B's performance in youtube.com/watch?v=rw3r-wT9yk8)

Last week, the actress Sabrina Bryan, from the Disney film “The Cheetah Girls” lost the first place in the competition.

• • Eddie Murphy says he's paid child support to Mel B

Messages

By Eunice Oh @ People.com

Just one day after his exes Nicole Murphy and Melanie Brown lunched together, Eddie Murphy spoke out about his 4-month-old daughter with the Spice Girl.

In a statement released by his rep on Friday, the actor says he "acknowledges paternity of the child Angel, and has paid child support to Ms. Brown as well as covering the expenses of her pregnancy."

The statement continues: "Mr. Murphy and Ms. Brown dated very briefly and never made any plans of ANY sort," although Brown told Essence.com that "this was a completely planned pregnancy."

Brown and her lawyer Gloria Allred have accused Murphy of not paying "one penny of child support." They also announced that they had filed a paternity suit against Murphy, who took a DNA test in June, to legally establish him as Angel's father.

In response to Murphy's claims, the Associated Press reports, Allred criticized the actor, saying, "He has not indicated in his statement or to us that he plans to visit the baby."

Brown told PEOPLE in May that she tried contacting Murphy but was unable to reach him and that he had not "seen his daughter" since she was born. Melanie, who gave birth to Angel Iris on April 3, is seeking sole custody.

• • Eddie Murphy's exes meet up for lunch and laughs
Posted @ Friday, August 3, 2007 by Junnior

By Amy Elisa Keith @ People.com

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usRemember the adage "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"? Melanie Brown seems to be putting it into practice.

Scary Spice was spotted Thursday meeting up with Nicole Murphy – Eddie Murphy's ex-wife and the mother of five of his children – at Beverly Hills eatery the Ivy, where the pair laughed over bottled water and lunch.

Joining the two women were daughters Angel Iris, Brown's 4-month-old, and 5-year-old Bella Zahra, Murphy's youngest child with Nicole.

"They seemed really friendly toward one another," says an onlooker of the pair, who wore curve-hugging dresses and posed for cameras outside. "They had a pretty private meal in the back corner, away from all of us."

The lunch date came one day after Brown and her lawyer Gloria Allred held a press conference claiming that Brown's former boyfriend Murphy "has not paid one penny of child support." A DNA test in June established that the actor is the father, but "paternity has not been legally acknowledged," according to Allred.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, baby Angel was already getting to know her half-sister, and Nicole Murphy – whose divorce from the actor was finalized in April 2006 after 12 years – even comforted the crying child when mom Brown went to the restroom. She rocked Angel until Mom returned, then the two new friends continued laughing and playing with the baby.

Says an onlooker: "Right before they left, Nicole gave Melanie two kisses on the cheek."

By Tim Nudd and Howard Breuer @ People.com

Melanie Brown, aka "Scary Spice," and her lawyer Gloria Allred stepped out for a press conference on Wednesday accusing Eddie Murphy of not doing "the right thing" in regard to Brown's baby.

Allred, who claims that Murphy "has not paid one penny of child support" for the former couple's daughter, said she plans to ask the court to award child support and "to decide what is reasonable."

Allred said she's filed a paternity suit against Murphy to legally establish that he is the father of their nearly 4-month-old daughter, Angel Iris Murphy Brown. "We've had communication with his attorney, and now we're moving forward," she said, adding that the papers are sealed because they concern a child.

"Murphy was promising to do the right thing, but to date he has not done the right thing," said Allred. "Mr. Murphy can have all the babies he chooses to have, but his responsibility needs to be to his own children. [Brown] is seeking sole physical and legal custody."

Still, Allred said Brown would be happy to arrange for Murphy to see his daughter regularly "like millions of parents do."

"He bought a big diamond ring for his new fianceé," added Allred, referring to Murphy's recent engagement to girlfriend Tracey Edmonds. "It is nice to be generous to others, but what about his own baby?"

Brown, wearing a white dress, told the gathered reporters, "I am here for one reason and one reason only – her name is Angel. Angel is my baby and Eddie's. She will always know that she was planned and wanted by both of us, but I want her to know that she has two parents who desire to be responsible for her during her life and who love her so much that they want to be a part of it."

A DNA test in June established that Murphy is the father, but "paternity has not been legally acknowledged," according to Allred.

In a recent interview posted on Essence.com, Brown said the pregnancy was planned and that the couple had discussed getting married after the birth. "This wasn't some random, 'Oops I fell over and I'm pregnant.' I don't live my life like that," she said.

Murphy's rep had no comment.

Now for some really cool news! We’ve had loads of messages from people all over the World asking why we weren’t performing in their Country. It’s impossible for us to perform everywhere but we thought why not let our fans decide where we play? This is your chance to turn your City in to “SPICE CITY”! All you need to do is tell us where you want to see us!

The City with the most votes will become “SPICE CITY” and we’ll definitely come and play there as part of our tour. It really is up to you to decide which City becomes “SPICE CITY” so get voting!

Lots of love

The last update wasn't in a very long time ago - less than 15 days, but with all the Spice Girls news it seems that it wasn't updated has centuries…

lol

But this is good too, this way I have a bunch of things to write about when I come back!

News section blog was restarted… It had many old archives with posts - site updates since the day I've created it - filling the server with unuseful pages… Then, this is the new blog - slowly I'll place here the most important posts - and with labels to help to read posts by subject.

Spice gossip? Yeah, enough… I'll be osting the news here during the week, including the newest headline: it seems that Melanie B is going to get married again - a rumor!

"Stop to the top" campaign was successfull, we make it: Stop re-entered the Official UK charts at #78 - a very good position for a single released 10 years ago!

Oh, talking about campaigns, I'm proud to publish to ya'll that Melanie-Brown.org is supporting the Spice Girls in Brazil campaign (spicegirlsnobrasil.com.br), a website that stimulates the brazilian Spice fans to do a few things to bring Spice Girls' tour to Brazil, after all, we deserve the last chance to dance!

We've been doing a photo shoot for the Greatest Hits Album cover and making some very exciting creative plans for the tour! - Just you wait!!!

We're gonna take a bit of a break before the really hard work begins. "Baby's having a baby!" Yeah we're giving Emma some Mama and Baby time!

We're gonna let you know very soon if you have been one of the lucky ones selected to buy your tickets. We hope that you have because it’'s going to be an amazing show! You never know, your friends might get lucky too so tell them to register and join in the fun... they'd be mad to miss out.

From Yahoo! News

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Following a calculated publicity buildup, the original Girl Power group of the 1990s announced Thursday they had agreed to get together for 11 concerts around the world in December and January.

The shows will be their first concerts since breaking up in 2001, and the first with all five of the original group since Geri "Ginger Spice" Halliwell quit to pursue a solo career in 1998.

"Imagine you got divorced and you've got back together with your ex-husband," Halliwell said, explaining how she felt about the reunion.

"She just appreciates the fact we've let her back in," joked Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham.

The group said the shows would be in Los Angeles on Dec. 7; Las Vegas on Dec. 8; New York on Dec. 11; London on Dec. 15; Cologne, Germany, on Dec. 20; Madrid, Spain, on Dec. 23; Beijing on Jan. 10; Hong Kong on Jan. 12; Sydney, Australia, on Jan. 17; Cape Town, South Africa, on Jan. 20; and Buenos Aires, Argentina on Jan. 24.

Halliwell and Beckham joined with Melanie "Sporty Spice" Chisholm, Emma "Baby Spice" Bunton and Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown to pose for photos and announce tour plans.

"We wanted to say thank you to our fans. It just feels very right for us," Chisholm said.

"Obviously it's nostalgic. But equally, if new fans want to come along, that's fantastic," Halliwell said. "I like to think our songs are universal and they are timeless."

The Spice Girls' first single, "Wannabe," was released in 1996 and topped charts in 31 countries. They went on to sell more than 55 million records. But their last album, "Forever," released in 2000 and without Halliwell, fared poorly.

You could now call them the Spice Mums. Beckham said the tour would be designed to accommodate the band members' seven children. And Bunton is now pregnant with her first child.

"Our priority is going to be our families. We want to have fun," said Beckham, who has three sons with her husband, soccer star David Beckham. "That's one of the many reasons for this, for our children to see what we used to do. And I may be the cool one in the family for once."

EMI said it plans to release the first Spice Girls greatest-hits album in November. The group also plans to make their first official documentary for TV broadcast.

"It's going to be the most honest story that you've ever heard," Halliwell said. "You get to see the dark side of the Spice Girls, the gritty side, the tears."

AlbunsThe Spice Girls will make an official announcement about their "future plans" next week, their management company has said.

Victoria Beckham, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Melanie Brown will make their announcement next Thursday, following recent speculation of a new album and a concert tour.

A statement issued from Simon Fuller's 19 Entertainment, which represents the band, said: "Following weeks of speculation, the Spice Girls are set to make an official announcement to the world regarding future plans on Thursday June 28.

"No further information can be given at this time but given the bands unique history, you can be sure to expect the unexpected! Details regarding the announcement will be released in the coming days."

The girls released their debut album, Spice, in November 1997. It sold 1.8 million copies in just seven weeks, making them the fasting-selling British act since the Beatles. • • DNA proves Eddie Murphy fathered Angel Iris

* Eddie Murphy is the father of "Scary Spice" Melanie Brown's 2-month-old daughter, Brown's rep confirms to PEOPLE.

The results of the DNA test, which Murphy took on June 11, were received by Brown on Thursday afternoon, says rep Liza Anderson.

"He's the baby's father, it's official," says a source close to Brown. "The baby is undoubtedly, 110 percent his."

Of Brown, the source said, "There was no doubt in people's minds anyways, least of all hers. It wasn't a surprise to her. She knew all along."

Murphy's rep declined to comment.

Brown, 32, gave birth to the baby, Angel Iris Murphy Brown, on April 3, and has long contended that Murphy is the child's father.

She and the comic dated last summer, but in December Murphy told a Dutch TV show of Brown's pregnancy: "I don't know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test."

In May, Brown told PEOPLE Murphy not only was refusing to take a paternity test but that he also had not contacted her since Angel was born: "He hasn't seen his daughter. My people have contacted his people and they just had no response to anything."

Thanks to TheBiatches @ DenDen

Eddie Murphy will undergo a DNA test to today (11.06.07) to determine whether he is the father of Mel B's baby.

Eddie has continually denied claims he is the father of two-month-old Angel Iris, after splitting with Mel while she was pregnant. The 'Dreamgirls' actor has now been ordered to appear in a US court to provide a DNA test after Mel sought legal action to resolve the dispute.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "If he tries to duck out of this test there will be all hell to pay. This isn't just another girlfriend he is messing around, this is his own flesh and blood.
"Mel knows the baby is Eddie's and can't believe it has got to the point where she has to force him to acknowledge there is a chance he could be the father. He has left her with no choice. This isn't about the money. It's about Angel knowing for sure who her dad is."

Mel who has also been ordered to attend the court hearing, prepared for the day by meeting up with her former Spice Girls bandmate Victoria Beckham. The pair caught up over a meal which was filmed for Victoria's new US reality TV show.

Eddie, who has five children, has not seen Mel or baby Angel Iris since she was born.

Today is D-Day for Eddie

TODAY is D-Day for Eddie Murphy to finally clear up the mystery of whether Mel B’s baby is his Golden Child.

The Beverly Hills Cop has so far refused to admit paternity of little Angel Iris, but Mel has always been adamant about who the daddy is.

Today Eddie will be ordered to appear in court in the US to provide a DNA test. Mel B also has an appointment to attend the hearing.

If they bump into each other it will be the first time they have come face to face since Eddie dumped pregnant Mel live on TV.

The cocky comic was due to be in London to promote Shrek The Third with Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake, bt he will be skating on thin ice if he doesn’t appear in court.

A source said: “If he tries to duck out of this test there will be all hell to pay. This isn’t just another girlfriend he is messing around, this is his own flesh and blood.”

“Mel knows the baby is Eddie’s and can’t believe it has got to this point where she has to force him to acknowledge there is a chance he could be the father. He has left her with no choice. She doesn’t want Angel to grow up questioning who her father is. At least this way they will know officially whether Eddie is the daddy or not and move on from there. This isn’t about the money, it’s about Angel knowing for sure who her dad is.”

Mel has been left on her own to bring up their child while he has been partying around the world.

If he was so sure the baby wasn’t his, why didn’t he insist on the test in the first place?

Mel prepared for her day in court with a few drinks and a meal with old pal Victoria Beckham in Los Angeles. The pair spent hours chatting and laughing at a friend trying a mechanical bucking bronco while they were filmed for Posh’s new American TV show.

Always Melanie B is back, with a new layout (inspired by Smooth magazine) and already celebrating Melanie's 32nd birthday (May 29th) and Angel Iris birth (April 03rd)!

Well... Not so news!
lol

A change of colors - clearer, content reorganization… As you can see, I opted to sub-menus, aiming a better content organization. We have new videos in media and other new features coming soon - Gallery's new layout is still lacking, but soon I'll make it!

And many exciting news on our beloved Melanie… "Telling lies" finally will be out - it premiered this month, and Melanie's second baby girl is born - Angel Iris Murphy Brown - more details in the next update…

NEW PHOTOS of Melanie with her baby Angel in the gallery, melanie-brown.org/pictures/categories.php?cat_id=12

Ah, about the lack of updates in the last month, forgive me. Now I started in a new job, as a resultant I'll have a little less time to dedicate to the site… But I'll be always here, bringing up to date as possible.

I hope you like the new website, feel free to send me suggestions… Until the next update - it will not delay!
